harbaugh is not worth all this wtf lol

he's fine.

in 4 of his HC years at SF, he went to the NFC Championship 3 times and the SB 1. I think blowing off the Vikings hiring Harbaugh is a mistake. I dont think he alone will turn the Vikings into a juggernaut, but his hiring will likely be a good thing rather than bad for the Vikings. On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point

He also lost 4 games at Michigan at least like 5-6 times, with players he got to handpick himself on the recruiting trail. His offenses were also all in the 20s in the NFL (and typically around 60s in NCAA).

LOL why do people keep saying stuff like this? Excluding the weird COVID season he lost 4+ games at Michigan twice in 6 seasons. He had the team a win over Ohio State away from the CFP in 3 of his 6 seasons, succeeding once. Certainly deserves criticism for not beating Ohio State enough to make it to the CFP but people vastly underrate his overall body of work at Michigan due to a handful of (admittedly important) games. But he was roughly as successful as Lloyd Carr was in terms of overall record and conference record.

Harbaugh's record at Michigan in 6 seasons (again excluding COVID season, if you want to count it ok): 59-16 (41-13)

Lloyd Carr's last 6 years at Michigan: 56-20 (38-10)

to be fair, in 2012 their offense was 5th in DVOA and in 2013 it was 8th. but that was with roman, the guy who helped unlock lamar jackson.

One Big Ten loss is like 2.5 in a real football conference.

he's also a huge weirdo

to me, he looks soo much like a younger Ted Danson I want to call him "mayday malone"

I'm not sure I wanted him to coach the Bears, but I worry a bit if he's with the Vikings

My bad. I think I was putting the last 2 Brady Hoke seasons on Harbaugh

No worries. He has a complicated legacy due to his ability to coach teams to win virtually every game they were favored in, but having a poor record against the Big 3 (MSU, OSU, bowl games). His inability to win in those 3 games gives people the perception that he was much worse than he was.

5-13 against the Big 3 and 54-7 against everyone else

I can't tell if this is legit reporting yet but there are people reporting that Matt Nagy may be hired as the OC of the Lions.

The Irish Bears podcast is where it originated. They are tight with our friend DBB and have him on the show a lot. They could just be trolling because it seems too ridiculous to be true.

kinda weird to see the passing game coordinator not be the qb coach, but who even knows what the title really means. it feels like a more recent trend in the league.

I don't think it is that weird. Passing game coordinator is one of those title inflation things, given to guys you want to squeeze in while showing a promotion.

This dude is a lonnggg standing WR coach, starting in 2003 with the Cardinals and spending 4-6 years at multiple spots with a one year stint at Carolina mixed in during John Fox's final year there. I think it's kind of interesting they have 50-somethings at HC and DC, and a 30-something at OC. They were obviously looking young at QB coach to go along with that OC, but this WR coach is another 50-something assistant to help with the kid, along with a fairly experienced OL coach. There were questions about whether Eberflus would bring in a former HC to his staff, but it looks like they are running out of space to fit one, depending on what happens at DLine, and I guess special teams.

So Champ Kelly was poached but the prevailing thought is that we won't get comped. Is that right?

Was that not a promotion he got with Vegas? Assistant director of player personnel to assistant GM?
