I saw that live and was so mad they didn't call that correctly. It was so obviously a backward pass.

Not entirely a Durkin issue although the buck ultimately stops with him. It’s not an exaggeration to say that there were several DOZEN missed tackles that game (and throughout much of the year so far).

 

What you’re witnessing is the credit bill coming due from the NCAA punishment as well as a previous coaching staff that was woefully inept at recruiting defensive players. Ole Miss had ONE four star player starting on that defense last night and he was a JUCO transfer. Usually Saban takes it easy on defenses that are that physically overmatched but he wasn’t able to because Alabama literally had to score on every possession in order to win that game.

 

Despite the probation, Ole Miss was able to get a few offensive playmakers the past few years and Kiffin has somehow turned them into a Lamborghini.
