Veteran infielder Darwin Barney will manage the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate in Nashville next season, as per a team press release. The 34-year-old Barney is taking on his first coaching or managerial job, following a playing career that saw him appear in parts of eight MLB seasons.

He could be a decent player-manager if he tried that, but I'm not sure if that's allowed in minor league baseball? I believe it's allowed, but I've never bothered to ask lol.

 

Also, it's weird that his first coaching job is at AAA. Usually you start lower on the totem pole of minor league affiliates and work your way up.
