and....Sam Pittman, Georgia's OL coach to Arkansas. That guy's press conference was one of the more brutally awkward press conferences I've ever seen. Dude was sweating, crying, stumbling over his words, mumbling, then suddenly laughing and smiling, then back to crying. That is going to be a disaster.

James Franklin nicely turned the FSU rumor into a tidy little contract extension. The number of PSU fans who want to run him out of town is laughably high. I don't know who they think they would get to replace him

I don't even need to look it up to know that Jimmy Sexton is the agent for Franklin. He's the absolute king of that sort of stuff in the college football world. He floated Norvell to Ole Miss to try and get FSU to pay more, which they eventually did. He did the same to FSU with Matt Campbell, which also resulted in a nice contract extension for Campbell at Iowa State.

Yeah... Woof! That was pretty bad. I just need to follow a different school instead of Arkansas and Purdue when it comes to football. Not a good time to be a fan of either one atm.

Pittman seems to have the respect of coaches and recruits. There is actual talent on the Hogs roster and a good fan support. They’ve just had a terrible run of hires the last decade. If Pittman is mediocre it’s a step forward.

I’m strangely optimistic about Pittman at UA. He seems like a nut (not Nutt) but he’s brought in a great staff with some recruiting chops. We’ll see.

Yes, his staff is really damn good.

 

I'm not sure how Leach is going to fare though. He's not exactly known as an elite recruiter, or a great one, or even a mediocre one. He's really bad at it. But he does win some games though, that's for sure.
