As much as I dislike Hawk and think he was insufferable and awful at his job... The one thing I will say is that I wish I had as much passion for what I do as he did for his job.

The Bears and the Cubs being good in the same year is so incredibly rare. I think the last time they both made the playoffs in the same year was 1984. 89 was the only year over an 8 year span the Bears failed to make the playoffs, then the Bears were mostly bad until 2005 and 2006 which is during the 3 year gap between the 03 Cubs and the 07-08 division champs.

 

Edit: Just looked it up. The ONLY 2 calendar years where the Cubs and Bears both made the playoffs in the same year are 1984 and 1932. Were talking 2 of the very oldest franchises in their respective sports. Crazy
