there was an article about the longest home runs for each team in the statcast era, and I thought that the 481 on that one had to be it for the Cubs but KB's shot off the LF scoreboard was projected at 495

That was one of the ugliest (non injured) Zobrist ABs I think I’ve ever seen him have in his time here

Going back to this backup catcher discussion, theres gotta be like a 95% chance the Cubs trade for a backup catcher right? Especially with rosters expanding, it’s a no brainer to grab a Rivera type for a bag of balls.

 

I mean last year they added 2 more catchers to go with Contreras and Caratini

It would seem prerty crazy for them not to. But it’s also pretty ridiculous that the initial plan was to have only Caritini and Gimenez as the backup options all year

Imagine if there was statcast when Glenallen Hill parked one on the rooftop. They estimated 490 feet during the broadcast on it
