It may just be a grip thing (he’s going to his hat after every pitch), but Darvish has kinda shaken his hand/arm after a few pitches already today

Schwarber oppo DONG off a lefty! My god is that man smaller, he looks almost like Javy body wise.

Also with a secondary assist on a play at the plate on a real nice play down the line in left (Javy with the perfect relay throw, per usual).

Sometimes I want to see Javy catch a game, just so I can watch him throw someone out trying to steal. And god he'd probably be great at pitch framing too.

I know he uses deception, but didn't realize he's going this far. Should be a fun year.

Man that's a really weird delivery. It's like he lost a bet to someone on the Dodgers last year and that player told him he has to imitate Kershaw's delivery... except it has to be a really shitty imitation.

Yep.

Yu Darvish looked as though he would stumble on the mound, yet still managed to unleash a pitch that struck out Drew Robinson of the Texas Rangers.

"I got off-balance," Darvish said through a translator. "I thought of not throwing it, but I ended up getting a strikeout. I think that was my best pitch of the day."

Heyward's swing is becoming the new offseason story of "The Bears are looking really good in training camp"

Did it ever NOT look like garbage?

no...even when he was 6 win 120 ops+ player for the cardinals, it looked like the same damn garbage it does now

he's either gonna hit ok or he's not, but it's always gonna look ugly as hell

I am not a swing doctor, but my understanding is Heyward's primary issue is timing. There is some concern about his old wrist injury hurting him against velocity, but everyone does worse against velocity and he hasn't been feasting on junkballers. That means that whatever gets him on time is good, which could but doesn't have to involve his swing as a whole changing.

I’ve seen it talked about too that he does something goofy with his grip (I think part of it is his hands are so big) but he has a tendency to over grip with at least one of his hands that causes issues as well.
