Depends too much on what the team they want to trade with needs back / likes the most. I think that Happ and Schwarber are the most likely to be headed out, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Almora or even Javy be traded.

I think Happ is most likely. I think in the end nobody gets traded and that would be my bet. I think they like (rightfully so) all of Schwarbs, Javy, Almora and Russell (Russell is nearly untouchable to me) too much that they wouldn’t be moved for anything less than a Archer, DeGrom or Stroman level pitcher.

I'm pretty damn sure one of those guys gets traded this winter...and I agree in thinking that Happ is most likely. On top of Theo pretty much saying he would (about as explicitly as one could possibly expect, at least), he also made it reasonably clear that their intent is to acquire 2 starters, in saying that they expect Montgomery to be in a swing role again next year. Obviously, they could sign two, but I'm not sure that's their preferred avenue at this point.

I voted Happ because I think he's the best blend of having value for other teams while still being replaceable by the Cubs' depth. In the grand scheme, I don't know how much Schwarber or Almora would even bring back right now. That said, I think the pitchers I'd be willing to move Happ for would require the Cubs giving up a lot more with Happ. So I wouldn't be completely shocked if one of the shortstops gets traded for that #2 type pitcher since it'd be easier to find a real backup shortstop (not Freeman) in the offseason.
