Here's a small reason for optimism for tankers. The Bulls are 28th in the league based on expected W/L. Unlike the tank standings there is actually a decent variance between, say 22 (Dal) and 28. Perhaps the Bulls have another tank gear left, and they've done more than the rest of the bottom 10 to deteriorate, even if Rolo and Holiday stuck around... they are very likely to see reduced minutes at least.

I'm liking the tank job so far. Reducing the minutes for vets, and maybe giving LaVine some games off here and there will help the effort. I think we have a good chance of getting a top-3 pick now, and hopefully NO misses the playoffs so we have two lottery picks in next year's draft.

There are some players I like in the 10-15 range.

LaVine in the 4th was fun though.

At least the Pelicans lost and are now out of the playoffs. I can see that pick winding up 12th, which would be great.

I'm not mad about this win. It was cool watching Lauri and Lavine go horsefeathers

I'm pissed Lauri got 7 shots.

Wow...I guess it was just my perception because everytime I looked up it seemed like he was making shots

At least he hit 5 of them lol.

Seriously, Portis took a 3(he did hit it), with Lauri having Crawford on his hip down low. Grant misses him on the perimeter constantly on pick and rolls. He should have had double the attempts he did.

Good game last night. LaVine is a keeper -- I have no doubts about signing him this offseason.

I think building around him and Lauri and hopefully the high draft pick is a great start to this rebuild. I'm not sure about Kris Dunn long-term. You really need an elite PG to win in the NBA right now, and I'm not sure Dunn ever gets there. He's an amazing defender and maybe we include him in a package to get A. Davis or Giannis down the road. A man can dream...

That was the worst real win of the year.

Winding up with the 8th or 9th pick is going to suck.

The draft lottery is still fixed, isn't it? It seems like the league will try to have the Bulls win since the Bulls being good helps ratings a lot.

I'd have more hope for that scenario if there was a surefire stud looming as a slam-dunk #1 pick. That seems to be when conspiracy fuel stuff happens - like Cleveland getting hometown boy LeBron or league-owned New Orleans being gifted Anthony Davis, or even Chicago getting hometown boy Rose with the 1.8% chance.

Yeah, we're not getting lucky again (no lottery miracle). If I recall correctly we had a 1.7% chance of getting the #1 pick that year, and I still can't believe it actually happened. That was incredible to witness. I think K. Hinrich was our starting PG lol.

A lot of people forget this, but this Bulls FO was pretty enamored with M. Beasley too and would've taken him if they got the 2nd pick instead of the 1st pick. What a disaster that would've been.

who the hell forgets that? it was a consensus 1/1a with those two. nothing would've been weird about the bulls taking beasley #2 if they had.

I had DRose WAY above M. Beasley. Like not even that close in my eyes. Beasley seemed like an idiot who would never reach his potential, and well that's what happened. He wasn't that tall or long either with serious question marks about his effort level and defense. He wasn't some slam dunk prospect like DRose.

There are a few prospects over the years that I didn't like because they had off-court behavior problems and makeup concerns. I think teams knew Beasley liked to smoke pot, and he might have gotten busted once for having a small amount? Maybe that was after he got drafted... All I remember is that I didn't like him.

Sweet. We're at least going to try and lose.

There was another quote saying Lopez, Holiday, and Grant will sit for blocks of games. Hope that means against the other shitty teams.

Bulls lose because Denzel was in on the tank at the end. Sit Lopez and Holiday, Lauri scores 3 points..... And Portis gets 38, Nwaba gets 21. Blowing a 5 point lead in the last minute is huge.

Good (bad) loss? I was actually hoping they'd win that game against Philly. I'm happy they lost, but it was in agonizing fashion.

Geez, Embiid, Simmons and maybe Saric is such a great group of young players to build around. They're gonna be really good for a long time with the standard caveat that they remain healthy. Brighter future than Boston IMO.

Nah. Boston is stacked and still is armed with enough to go grab Kawhi or AD, or anyone else they want. It'd take Lebron going to Philly, to put their future in the same boat as Boston's.

Yeah plus throw in health factor/risk with Philly's guys and Boston having the best non-Pop and maybe Kerr coach in the league I don't think it's all that close.

I'm really high on Simmons and Embiid. They both can develop into legit superstars, and they already complement each other well. I'll admit the Celtics will be better next year and the year after that, but Irving and Hayward will start to decline eventually. Al Horford is already in decline. I'm not that high on J. Tatum or J. Brown (good players, but not superstars). The 76ers will eventually upgrade in the head coach department too.

We'll see, but I'll take the 76ers being more dominant in 2-3 years once all their young players get stronger and round out their games.
