I wasn't thrilled with how Jeffery responded to a 'contract year' last year. The suspension really was the last straw after all the time missed to injuries he possibly could have played through.

But [expletive] they could have just given him Glennon's money and re-signed Hoyer, even though that was a case of that movie being seen before. I know Hoyer can't make all the throws but in general I felt comfortable he wouldn't throw games away, either.

you don't win friends with Hoyer. And Glennon is something they were hoping would be more than Hoyer, but no more than a placeholder.

I'd argue there is a real need for a defensive playmaker. If they have a chance to draft one rated higher than any particular WR, but instead take a WR just because they really need one, that's a huge missed opportunity.

How you end up with Kevin White instead of 2016 sack champion, Vic Beasley.

You under value what you have: Jeffrey

I would go WR in first this year. I love Ridley, think he'll be an ODB-like player.

Then sign Landry. Then you have an instantly-deep receiving corp to play with Trubisky. Meredith and White are simply depth.

No. No. No. No.

Right school, wrong player.

Meh, the Bears waste a top 7 pick on Ridley while everyone drafts QBs (also Barkley). The best you can do is an avg to undersized, good route runner with Fitzpatrick on the board? Pace would deserve to be punched in that handsome face.

this is crap, the converse is how you end up with Gaines Adams instead of Adrian Peterson, too.

I mean, you can second guess picks all day.

this is what people do, though. they argue that the Bears have no wide receiving talent and then complain when they pick a WR.

Jeffrey isn't all that great.

But really, I think the White pick was the Bears picking the best talent available.

I think the Bears should trade down, anyway. People will be desperate for those QBs.

Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat (FA, trade).

I didn't complain about White being drafted, it didn't work out but it wasn't a poor choice.

A team with this many holes especially in a QB draft that's looking like '83 did, the Bears have a chance to get the 2nd best non-QB in the draft. At this point, Ridley isn't close to that.

This is a strong draft for DBs, it lines up perfect for them to get the BPA with a significant need.

Brutal play calling by Loggains

Hoge and jahns were saying Fox is heavily interfering with play calling and it would make sense that the conservatism comes from him

Posted

is the objective of the offense to get trubisky in 3rd and short and avoid ExOTiC BliTzEz or gain yards and score and actually let him get valuable experience

he can learn to drop back from under center and hand off in practice
