It's amazing that Bryant has spent almost the entire year hitting in front of Rizzo and Zobrist a majority of the season hitting immediately behind Rizzo yet combined they have less RBIs than Anthony.

Then you see that Bryant and Zobrist combined to strike out looking 3 times with runners on base tonight and it starts to make sense.

Sorry I'm feeling overly negative tonight.

Uh, one of these dudes is not like the others.

With Bryant it's weird because he's so good otherwise. Zobrist has been a broken old man for most of the season.

Stop caring about this. I promise you, it's not actually a thing.

I'm more than aware it's not a thing. It's more incredulity then anything.

Jimmy Rollins got that stupid MVP win and the next year he knocked in 59, which probably has to be the lowest total ever for a reigning MVP who played a full season. Pretty sure Bryant will pass that... but then again Rollins was a leadoff hitter so he's not normally gonna have a high RBI total.

Bryant at 59 is the epitome of futility in run scoring situations. It's flatout shocking.

You almost have to consider him for leadoff because his numbers with the bases empty are phenomenal.

Bryant has played in 132 games but in only 86 of those has a runner been in scoring position for him, that seems low (total of 128 PAs). The RISP numbers for him aren't good but it seems like he's also had an abnormal amount of fewer PAs/situations with RISP to capitalize for his overall RISP to normalize to where they should be for the caliber of hitter he is and where he hits in the order.

he's been hitting #2 all year and had awful schwarber hitting leadoff for like what, 1/3 of the year?

Yeah I'm thinking a big part of this is the shitty OBP guys who've mostly been in front of him all year Schwarber and/or Zobrist have to of been hitting in front of him for at least half his games if I had to guess.

Edit: I just looked it up, he ranks 80th for PAs with RISP in all of MLB and 68th in total games where he had RISP. That has to be the damn near lowest ranking for a guy who hits 2nd or 3rd every game and also considering his team ranks inside the top 5 for team OBP and he's played in all but 9 games this year.

He really hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt this season. One could argue he's had too many opportunities in those sits this year lol

Well that's just silly, idk if joking. I'm guessing these ~100 PAs are the outlier and the good hitter who's put up 20+ WAR in not even 3 full seasons and is still hitting .257/.375/.456 w/RISP for his career (even with these shitty ~100 PAs) is going to still be a good hitter with RISP. If anything we are about to see him hit like .350/.475/.550 w/RISP for the rest of the year.

you're otherwise not a terrible poster but this is clearly a really large blind spot for you

I'm mostly being facetious but man the quality of contact in his PAs in those sits has been laughable

It's all inconsequential but obviously it has my attention. He's easily gonna be better moving forward because he's basically at the nadir right now.

0 XBH in HLS is lol for KB. We all agree.

No we don't agree. You are just wrong here. It's silly that you care this much about it. It really is. It shouldn't have your attention at all. It means nothing. Absolutely nothing.

He's had 54 PA in high leverage situations. He has a 20.4% BB% and a 20.4% K% in those situations. He's taking the same good ABs. And he's made poor contact on 30 balls in play in high leverage situations. 30 balls in play. You can't tell anything from that. At all. It is completely fluky and means nothing. Please just give it up.

Beat these punks and give them something to bitch about. Ehhh, not like they won't anyway, it's what these horsefeathers do.

Jimmy Nelson Out For Season

How about this? I'm sure they'll blame The Cubs and Wrigley. But that's what happens when you go horsefeathering around with amateur ass voodoo dolls.
