Would we give Tseng a shot at the rotation with Lester out?

Well the cost is that you have to waive someone on the 40 man roster. I don't think there are any obvious 60-day DL candidates, so is a start or two from Tseng (heard he was on an innings limit with 40 left before yesterdays start so ~34 IP left) worth losing Aaron Brooks or Seth Frankoff? Might be, but its a consideration.

At first I thought the injury was really serious. It's not really necessary if Jon is missing just 1 start.

 

But I'd still chop those 2 and throw Tseng and Maples on.

Why is there never a mention of the great job Daury Torrez has done this year at Tenn.?

Torrez has a very shiny ERA, but not striking anyone out as a 24 year old reliever at AA doesn't give a lot of excitement for his future. Maybe he keeps it up he's a strike throwing middle reliever for the time he has options? Even that is an uphill battle though.

Sure would. It'd help to maybe get some of the taste of vomit out of my mouth from knowing that the Cubs passed on taking Brent Honeywell after having him in for a private workout before that draft, but deciding to stick to their pre-draft scouting & taking Stinnett, hoping Honeywell to be there later.
