Brailyn Marquez went 4 1 0 0 2 3 in his EXST against our Mesa roster. AZPhil says he's got a shot at being the 5th starter for Eugene, behind Albertos, Assad, Camargo, and de los Rios.

Paredes has a sub-.700 OPS in Low A, we can be interested and hopeful about him without exaggeration. On the position player side alone, Eloy, Happ, Caratini, Candelario, Burks, and Zagunis would easily rank ahead of him, to say nothing of less certain guys like Vosler or Martinez.

Alzolay ran into trouble in the 3rd. Finished 4 3 3 3 3 8. That was on 86 pitches. He was 2 1 0 0 1 5, after 2. Gave up a 2 run shot and a solo shot back to back and his PC went north quickly.

Not great, but it looks like the stuff is there with 2 Ks per inning.

Sierra was on the Mesa AZL team for that intrasquad game. Still unclear whether he starts in Eugene. My hunch is no. Had a 2B and 2 Ks for Mesa today.

Mekkes K'd all 5 batters he faced, please move him up

#Mekkeswatch

So much this. 21 pitches/15 strikes was all he needed. Get Maples to Tennessee and Mekkes to Myrtle.
