go get blake griffin

He's a really good player no doubt, but idk if you are ever really winning with him as your highest or 2nd highest paid player.

A championship?

How many players would you even say that about?

We're not winning championships for as long as LeBron and the Warriors exist.

Yes I've missed having a star with knee issues

The difference there is that he is actually good

Do you think that's realistic?

Get Jimmy and Wade on the phone.

Just don't see it. What a mess this shitstack of a team is. Jimmy supposedly promised he's staying.....Wade seems like he'll opt in(he's not coming close to getting the money elsewhere) and he's said he won't recruit unless he thinks they can win.

They'll win 35-45 next year too, then move Jimmy for a top 10ish pick and a young guy with some semblance of upside.

Wade could probably do a great sell job, but for all of the wrong reasons.

Oh and fire Hoiberg (i know not happening)

I think the FO is even more of a pipe dream, but i'm fine with just blasting gar into the sun if it's true that the last few years of bizarre ass moves/non moves are a result of paxson being hands off.

There aren't many.... but yeah meant a championship. Or at least ability to get to conference finals. I don't think Blake helps with either, him and Jimmy could basically do what the Clippers have done the last few years and then you're stuck with the cap basically. That's fine. Just don't think he's a guy you need to get with the goal of really winning. Also a big guy with his injury history scares me, especially when he relies so much on athleticism

I'd take being something like the Clippers of the last few years in the East

I get the concerns about his health but I'd take the shot.

Have we figured out why these max level players are going to take significantly less money and less years to play for this horsefeathers show organization?

Because GarPax are the best recruiters in basketball and everyone wants to play with Wade, in serious decline.

You know what's less likely than convincing good players to come to Chicago and play with Jimmy?

Becoming championship contenders by trading away one of the best players in the league in his prime for draft picks and being absolutely horrible for years. But everybody wants to do that like it's some magic pill. Working horsefeathering great in Minnesota and Philadelphia, tho! Hell, New Orleans drafted Anthony Davis, he has turned into a superstar, and they've tasted the playoffs once.

Yet, you've got Jimmy for 2 years, no talent around him, and no real money to spend. So, you're doing what in 2 years when you lose Jimmy and you're a 15 win team anyway?

With this new CBA I honestly think you are more likely to build a good team from tanking than you are getting a star to sign here. We couldn't get stars to come to Chicago even before the new CBA made it even more advantageous for stars to stay with their current teams. Chicago is just not that desirable of a FA destination.

That said, both scenarios are sadly very unlikely. We've had this discussion too much. To some degree I respect your viewpoint but I don't agree.

Look I don't expect anything of substance in these types of press conferences from any team's front office, but what GarPax have said is such thinly disguised [expletive] and a whole lot of talking in circles. No one is buying this bullcrap about keeping financial flexibility and Fred showing growth, etc.
