I can't sand Kressel, and I know we have our own pos (Kane, who may have RAPED someone), but I don't want to ever read of a dynasty like ours. I want 2-3 more

What do you have against Kessel?

I think the Pens many injuries might catch up with them against the preds.

The Preds have injury problems of their own. Sadly if Pittsburgh makes the SCF they should win in 5-6 games.

You could have said the same thing about the Hawks beating the Preds. Should be a fun series with 2 teams that both want to push the pace.

He's from Madison WI. That's all I need.

(Totally irrational, but growing up in Illinois and going to school at MN, I have my geographical prejudices)

1. Compelling argument re Madison

2. Do you also hate yourself for going to Mn instead of Champaign?

Symbiotic really. Champaign and Minneapolis have common enemies: Madison and Iowa City

I stand by the hatred

Hahaha I was wondering anyone would catch that.

The truth is my I rarely watch Eastern conference hockey, and it's Ryan Kesler I dislike. So, I got confused and couldn't remember when the Pens traded the ducks for him. I was already digging a hole, so I thought I'd go for China with the Madison dig

I read this three times before I comprehended what was going on, but I concur, Kesler is a jagweed. Kessel doesn't seem like a bad dude at all, but I love the guy, as I'm viewing things through Pens shaded glasses.

Kessel trolling team USA as they were getting bounced from the World Cup was great. They left him off the roster for the likes of Justin horsefeathering abdelkater because Torts is a neanderthal who wanted grit or whatever euphemism for borderline goon he used.

Rock and a hard place for Hawks fans on this SCF. If Nashville wins, that's a division rival winning and gives their fans some bragging rights. If Pittsburgh wins, they probably overtake the Blackhawks as 'team of the era" (if they havent already).

Nashville for sure, if they win so be it. If Pittsburgh repeats, that isn't something the Hawks were able to do.(2014 was their best shot)

I still want to see a Hawks-Penguins cup soon, to settle who is this era's best.

i think the blackhawks run would still be remembered as being more impressive. that first crosby team that won the cup was too long ago, and they had too many ugly/disappointing playoff exits between then and last year. also the east was pretty weak in lots of those years. the blackhawks consistently did it against great competition.

Back to back is more impressive than 3 in 5. If the Hawks win another one and Crosby doesn't than the debate is over.

Indeed, that game was less fun to watch for me than the Cubs are right now.

0 shots in 37 minutes starting at the end of the 1st period for the Pens. Then they get 2 shots off late in the 3rd (1 on an empty net) and score 2 goals.

Nashville's opening goal being overturned, Bonino's fluke deflection for goal #3, just so much dependency on luck. Hopefully they play more like they did for the final 10 minutes of the 1st, and less like they did for the other 50 minutes where they got shellacked.

I don't think they'll play that poorly again, but if they do, the Predators should run away with this.

i disagree, even though it was 3 in 6

Eh, if they never do meet in the SCF then they'll be looked back on as "the teams of the decade" plural rather than singular.

Unless one of them just rattles off several Cups before their current prime guys start getting phased out.

Back to Back for the Penguins.

Marcus Kruger to Vegas

Salary Cap is staying put.

Hawks are screwed. The NHL needs to do something about the cap...I realize that it's based on revenue, but you need to figure out a way to either plan it out over a 3-5 year period so teams can plan for it, or get rid of the hard cap. The Hawks signed Toews and Kane to these giant 8 year extensions with no way of knowing that the cap was going to come screeching to a halt. Now one of the NHL's most marketable teams has to continually shed talent because the Canadian economy went in the tank (among many other reasons the cap has flattened out). How are teams supposed to approach signing their top stars to long term deals when they have no idea what the cap will look like in even 3 years?

Yes I'm bitching about this only because its hurt my favorite team and it probably wouldnt even be on my radar if it didn't, but since it is on my radar, it does seem like a major issue with the NHL CBA.

The Hawks are kinda where Pittsburgh went from 2010-15. I think they will continue to slide for the next couple of seasons before going on a few more cup runs on the back 9 of Toews and Kane's careers.
