I still think the arguments for Greene to have been a good bet to break out if someone got him away from the Padres were solid; I remember being really bummed when the Cardinals got him and figured he'd be kicking ass for them for years. He just ended up having personal/off the field issues that were WAY worse than anyone knew and it completely sidetracked him.

 

Basically out of all the ridiculous things Meph said, the Greene fandom ranks pretty low.

 

Meph was a wellspring of absurdity. I mean there are always at least one or two posters here who amusingly behave as if they are intellectually superior to everyone else here, but Meph had a certain...flair.
