I wasn't expecting much out of Floyd this year, maybe a Mark Anderson type impact where he dominates when played situationally. But obviously the big loss if its a bad injury is that he loses a year of development for a guy that needs it.

That said, because we're talking about John Fox, I doubt we will get a true indication of whats wrong with him anytime soon.

He was sick. No injury.

Not weird, but when you hear of a player getting carted off the field during practice your first thought isn't 'he's got the flu'

It's a good wtf

is it just me or has every bit of news coming out of training camp been bad? Everybody has been banged up, the line may contend with the worst lines in recent memory for ineptness. the first round pick can't stay on the field. I guess last year's 1st round pick looks good. Nothing about this team is interesting.

Are they just playing out of the clock on the Cutler years and allowing Pace and Fox to rebuild from scratch repetitively?

Over/under on wins is 7.5 and I'm having a real hard time trying to justify taking the over.

I've heard a few positive bits. Not on individual players, which is probably whats important, but after killing the Bears for the performance against Denver and the first day of the co-practices with New England, the beat guys went out of their way to point out that the Bears "won" day 2 and maybe day 3. After the actual game, most of the reaction was how well the 1st team played against the Pats with the cavet that we don't know how good the Pats backup QB is (although good enough to torch the Bears 2nd team defense)

But you are definitely right, more negative than positive and there really hasn't been anything compelling about this team. There does seem to be a lot of guys banged up as well. All that said, although my initial optimism for the season has dampened with how training camp has gone, I'm not letting anything that I see/hear before week 1 influence me too much. I still think Pace projected this as another rebuilding year, but one that with an easier schedule and some luck could be a playoff team (although you can probably say that about like 28 teams).

i'm pretty excited about watching our WR corps and fangio running a defense with a lot more talent than last year.

my biggest concern is OL but i could see it being a pretty decent run blocking unit, at least.

They'll be more fun to watch than they have been in recent years. They'll be a lot faster with White, Langford, Trevathan, Freeman, Floyd and the rest of the rookies on the field. This team is still 1 draft away, but with a year in the system (I know the OC is different, but system the same) and a pretty substantial increase in talent....if the Bears can win half of the games this year that they lost by less than a TD last year, they're a 9-win team.

Is 31 yards of offense in the first half of the dress rehearsal game bad?

Not as bad as what it actually ended the half at. 20, apparently.
