Of the players called up over the last few years, who will have the second best career?

When we look back at the careers of these young Cubs, who will end up having the second best career behind Bryant? Your criteria can be whatever, though the easiest is probably just to say total WAR.

I'm going with Contreras. He looks like a sure bet to at least stick at catcher, if not become above average. Obviously there's a lot to love with the bat, currently sporting a .369 wOBA with a 10% BB rate. The strikeouts are a bit high, but that's the way it's gone for all of these guys, plus it wasn't an issue for Willson in the minors, so I'm assuming it will come down in a big way.

It's hard to be too disappointed in Russell's overall value, but I was expecting a bigger jump from him offensively. And who knows, maybe a post-rehab, svelte Kyle Schwarber can throw up some positive UZRs and make it interesting, though it's hard to imagine him doing that into his 30s. Or maybe Javy does the un-thinkable and develops plate discipline.

Soler is still going to be great. His offensive peak will be as good as any of them. Bryant, Russell and Baez are going to the HOF.

I literally think its 50/50 that Szczur winds up with more career WAR than Soler.

Russell. He has 5.1 fWAR in 900 MLB PA's, he's 22 and a half years old, and he still has plenty of room to grow with the bat.

Yes. That nice and easy 400 ft jack he had to straightaway center Wednesday has me even more giddy about him
