Remember when we were discussing Cubs starter regression and debating how bad it would be?

Granted the starters haven't been horrible at all but there's been a clear downgrade in results the last 3 weeks.

I cannot wait until we replace Hammel at the deadline. I don't care if he's fine as a 5th starter I hate him so much irrationally

Yeah, this has not been fun though.

It's only 72 degrees in NY. Hammel needs to stop sweating like a fat man mowing his lawn in August

Yea, it's not like it was raining or anything. Heyward remains horsefeathering awful

Hey at some point they went from playing out of this world to slumping. Based on record alone this is when the "slump" started record wise. I put slump in parenthesis because we're still 14-12 in that period which is an 87 win pace

this season is getting disappointing

We have a double digit division lead. Perspective. It could be worse.

perspective is the only reason i said it. they're having a great season because of the scorching start, but they've been disappointing for like 2 months now. the fact that we're keeping our 10 game lead due to playing in a terrible division doesn't make the mediocrity any less disheartening.

I mean, if you're gonna slump now is the time to do it ( with injuries and the huge lead and all) You have to imagine we will get it going again eventually.

I think he's talking more about the idea that we can't beat good teams and can only beat bad teams now. Everyone knows we haven't played as well. But there's nothing to this sub-.500 and above-.500 split. It's small sample size nonsense.

We have the best record in baseball and are going to win over 100 games. I don't find that disheartening.

So this is where I get annoying and everyone hates it but I can't help myself. I know that doesn't say anything about the 2016 Cubs I just like get off on tidbits like that for some reason.

you know exactly what i'm saying. you don't have to pretend like you haven't been disappointed in the team lately.

How on horsefeathering earth is this season getting disappointing? Bc we aren't going to win 117 games? Smdh. We have a double digit lead in the division, are almost guaranteed to go the playoffs, are slumping yes, but while plagued w position player injuries at least. We have young guys coming up balling. I don't get Cubs fans.

Nobody in baseball has hit more home runs than Kris Bryant has this year. No one in the National League has hit as many HRs as Kris Bryant this year.
