People are free to be fans as they see fit, but after the years of sucking balls, I don't understand how anyone can approach this current Cubs team with anything other than joy. After what they've done since the trade deadline last year, I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt. At least to not start bitching during the first few innings. Obviously, YMMV.

A simple understanding of percentages and statistics makes it very challenging for me to get upset over even a week or so of poor baseball. I couldn't possibly imagine getting upset over 3 innings of baseball. Especially when the team is up almost 10 games.

I feel like Hammel could have gotten out of that inning with a couple fewer pitches. [expletive]

Any more than three is just a failure.

I had wondered if I could ever again be all in with a Cubs team after '84, '03, etc. would I always have a doom boner? Last Fall and this year have taught me otherwise. I love these guys.

Less than that. Any pitcher that can't intimidate the hitter into not taking their AB and getting called out by the ump is garbage.

Really good start from Hammel.

Considering it's the bottom of the order and Hammel only pitched 2 innings last time, I would have liked to have seen him start the 8th
