I laughed when I looked at the score because, of course, they blew those early chances and that's just the kind of mad logic this game has. Also the Diamondbacks are annoying as hell.

Am I remembering correctly? Rizzo had the foul ball ready to hit his glove when it caromed off that stupid wire, which would have ended the inning and ended up being one of the runs that scored to cost the Cubs that game?

I agree. It seemed like the right move at the time and I'm still in favor of it. Putting a good baserunner as the winning run on 1st with Peralta coming up is a bit risky.

 

I would have strongly considered having Rondon warm and double-switching him and Szczur in once you had 2 outs, 2 on and the DP no longer mattering. In a playoff game, it probably goes down like that, but I'm guessing Cahill gets a little more rope this early in the season.
