Damn, I really liked him on the Sports Reporters.

Matt abattacola and Bernstein just went at it on the air. Sounded legit too. Bernstein did his usual bit when someone called in and suggested firing Pace, calling them an idiot and belittling them. Whatever it's his thing. And Abattacola went on a mini tirade about his schtick of belittling people for having opinions and basically went off for a minute not letting Bernstein get a word in. Finally Bernstein just mocked him saying "finally someone put that jerk Bernstein in his place". Matt said something like "the only thing worse than the idiots calling on Bears Monday is the horsefeathers that answers the calls" and then they rather abruptly went to commercial.

 

Funny stuff and yes I know great story

lol, I just listened to that...Abattacola's point to start with was dumb...Bernstein was right about people having jumping to meatball opinions after a short time. He had a fair point about Bernstein being mocking towards his callers, but that's been his schtick FOREVER....strange time to pick that fight. And Bernstein is just better on his feet than Abattacola....he disarmed the whole thing pretty quickly.

So Bryant Gumbel is the worst

 

Real Sports had a pretty good segment on PitchFX and the inaccuracy of human umps. It showed opinions from the software engineers, ex-umps, ex-players, etc.

 

At the end of the segment, Gumbel comes back and goes on a min-rant about how much he hated the segment, how computers and replay should be out of all sports, and how the "integrity of the game" and the "human element" is all that matters, even in the face of gross inaccuracy

Simmons dumpster fire of a show got canceled by HBO

 

I enjoy ratings news, and I saw something this week about how "Any Given Wednesday" was doing just awful and I had to google what it even was.

I enjoy ratings news, and I saw something this week about how "Any Given Wednesday" was doing just awful and I had to google what it even was.

I watched like 5 min of one of the episodes and it was awful. Simmons is terrible on TV. And yeah the ratings from the start have been abysmal from some articles I've seen.
