Trade down in the first, pick up an extra few picks, and take Jaylon Smith.

Already have 9 picks (granted 3 will be in the 200 range) and I'm not sure he drops much past 11 if at all. If you like him, take him there.

Fine with me. Getting a top 5 talent at #11 sounds like a plan.

There's no way in hell Pace gambles on two straight years of his first-round pick not playing his rookie season. Some other team picking between 10 and 20 who can afford to be patient on such a player will grab him. I'd be shocked if he falls far enough that we could trade back up and get him later, but would be all for doing so if that happens.

Being rich must be awesome

Because you can buy the Eric Mangini look?

A nice conservative parted set of hair? Sure.

I mean it's not as awesome as just being blessed with a naturally lush head of hair, so I'm more awesome than Urlacher, but it helps close the gap.

Also, he didn't spray paint his head like Carlos Boozer.

Probably the most desirable spot for Gase to land. He's gone.

http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/source-adam-gase-not-scheduled-2nd-interview-eagles

Contrary to a published report, the Eagles have not scheduled a second interview with Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase for their head coaching vacancy, according to a league source familiar with the Eagles' thinking.

NFL Network reported Wednesday that the Eagles were so impressed with Gase after his first interview that they had already scheduled a second interview with him.

But the source said no second interview has been planned yet with any candidate.

Want Whisenhunt but will probably be Loggins, blech.

I'm OK with this. We knew if Gase proved he was worth keeping with the Bears that he would be gone after a year anyway. Loggains provides some continuity, which is key and he does have OC experience.

I'm hoping Aaron Leming doesn't know what he's talking about on this one.

That was the same argument for Tice, sans the OC experience for Loggains which I don't find all that comforting.

I want them to hire the best guy, not just the guy who is already here.

Seriously though

This [expletive] sucks

[expletive] promoting from within...especially when it's just some clown we hired as QB coach last year. Now he's running our offense? What the hell did he do in Tennessee? Gase was a cool hire. This is not. This is a downgrade.

LOL. The OC experience is actually a big deal, compared to a meatball OL coach like Tice.

Middle of the road offense with the combination of Jake Locker, Matt Hasselbeck, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, which is about all anyone else have been able to do with these QBs. Of course this is a downgrade, the OC was just the most sought after HC candidate on the market. Whisenhunt would be a downgrade too. Obviously, not as a big of a downgrade but teams don't typically get a better OC without firing the guy they had.
