Giants 4.5

Nationals 7.5

Anybody else wanting the Giants to win 3 or 4 against the Nationals? The Giants schedule is just so much more difficult than the Nationals from here on out. It would be nice to bury the Nationals.

Go Mets, Reds and Marlins.

How much more buried do you want the Nationals to be?

I like the Nationals more than any other NL contender, so I'd really rather they win and eventually overtake the Mets.

Yeah, they're a fun team to follow around here. There's a long list of teams I'd wish this collapse on before them.

They are also potentially more dangerous in the playoffs, so I want them dead.

Also, good thing they rested Strasburg for those 2011 playoffs. He's really paying them dividends these days.

Yeah, down with NY teams.

Nothing against the Nationals. My reasons are solely rooted in the best interest of the Cubs securing a playoff spot. The Nationals have been unbelievably streaky this year and have a cakewalk for pretty much the rest of the season. The Giants on the other hand have a ridiculous schedule ahead of them.

If you told me the Cubs will at least win 2/3 against the Giants I would be all over the Giants winning 3/4 against the Nationals.

The Nationals are as alive for the wild card as we are for the division, except we have head to head games with the Cardinals.

We're also better than the Nationals.

Brewers put RP Blazek on the DL with a broken hand. I'm guessing he punched a wall after giving up the homer to Miggy.

If the Cubs play .500 ball the rest of the year, the Nationals would have to go 32-16 to tie the Cubs. And the Mets would have to go on a slightly lesser hot streak to stay ahead of the Cubs and Nationals

...and 5-1 Giants. Absolutely 0 help today. What a frustrating situation. I know if we keep winning everything will take care of itself but it would be really great if our best season since 2003 doesn't come down to needing to win a game at PNC park.

If the Cardinals and Pirates would have gone even just .500 during our stretch, we would have gained 7 or 8 games.

Nothing is ever easy for the Cubs. At the very least, we need to grab the first wild card spot.

As long as we don't get swept by the Giants we should be fine as long as we don't tank. The division has always been a long shot and while I want that game at Wrigley, at the end of the day it doesn't matter a ton. It would be nice if those teams lost occasionally but we technically control our destiny against the Giants and pirates and with 7 games left against them almost control our destiny against the Cardinals although asking them to win out against them is quite a stretch. Just keep winning
