Nothing like a guy who barely OPSed .800 in the minors come up and potentially steal ROY from Bryant (or anyone for that matter).

Only the [expletive] Cardinals.

eh, they're probably thinking it's an outrage that .440 SLG guy will probably win MVP based purely on name recognition and hype while the guy quietly slugging .570 gets snubbed

n a little more than 100 plate appearances, Schwarber is batting .341, getting on base at a .429 clip, and slugging .604. He’s pummeling MLB pitchers every bit as much as he did minor leaguers (Schwarber batted .333/.429/.613 on the farm). The 22-year-old is holding his own versus fastballs (.468 slugging percentage), but he shines versus soft stuff. Schwarber’s slugging .759 off curveballs, sliders and changeups thus far, the highest clip in the majors among batters who have seen at least 140 of those pitch types in 2015. The last time a Cubs rookie hit this well was, well, never.

Adjusted for park factors and league-wide run-scoring, Schwarber’s OPS is 84% above the MLB average (184 OPS+). That’s the highest OPS+ ever for a Cubs rookie taking at least 100 trips to the plate. We shouldn’t expect him to keep raking like this, but Schwarber could well finish with a better OPS+ as a rookie than the likes of Davy Jones (144 in 1902), Hector Villanueva (143 in 1991) and Dwight Smith (141 in 1989, when he finished as the runner-up for NL Rookie of the Year).

Not sure the point of that last sentence. Didn't need Hector Villanueva and Dwight Smith mentions to provide context (at least not good context).
