I thought he was just going to stare down the ump all the way back to the dugout

Why does it seem like umps have been terrible calling balls and strikes this year in particular?

We have the freaking technology, why can't we just [expletive] implement it? Why do we have to let human error factor into it when we don't have to?

I would like to believe that it's always been this bad, we just now have better ways to measure it... but I don't think that is it. The zone has been wildly inconsistent everywhere (I watch a fair number of Giants games too). The Cubs have been really screwed with our young guys, but that doesn't explain why we get screwed the other way with our pitchers.

My brain says I'm biased and only see when we get screwed... but we've really gotten screwed a lot.

Umpiring has always been bad. We just haven't cared or noticed since 2009. Edited by Gilby

Grimm went yesterday too, not sure how confident they are in him going 2 days in a row. Tonight is the night to try though I guess.

It isn't, but part of me thinks umps have gotten wise to pitch framing and are now calling close pitches that look like strikes balls because they think they're being deceived. But that's just my tin foil hat theory.

He's been warming up for a few minutes now.

Maybe. I dunno. It's been especially awful this year to me. Not just balls and strikes either.

Why do we always suck when we get into a team's bullpen?

Or maybe I'm just imagining things.
