Mendy HR in Iowa.

Skulina has 4 perfect innings w/ 6 K so far.

Make that TWO HR for McKinney today.

Also, some LIGHTS OUT pitching on the farm today.

Most notable is a monster game by Skulina which is great to see after all that talk of adjustments in the off season and a few rough games to start the year. Also, I think it's about time to move Williams up.

AAA - Donn Roach: 7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

A+ - Tyler Skulina: 6.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K

A - Ryan Williams: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K (ERA at 0.35)

Ryan Williams is looking intriguing despite being a year or so old for his league. Trouble with moving him or Null up is that the A+ rotation is strong, but none quite ready for AA.

Craig often mentions that pitchers can work on whatever they need to do no matter what level they are at. While there are certainly advantages to having guys at appropriate levels, there's also truth that as long as these guys are throwing the mix they are going to need later it is okay to leave them where they are for now.

Probably going to take more than that to win back the defeatists, but even if he ends up more Yunel Escobar than Gary Sheffield, I still have hope for him.

Man was it a good day to be a SP in the Cubs farm system.
