Other than that, everything else is great. Will take some getting used to, but whatever. It's all for the best. All the awesome embeddable content is awesome.

IIRC Tim was opposed too. When I brought it up before, I think the argument was that it encourages less thoughtful replies or something. And not quoting.

I can only speak for myself really. But on RealGM I post basically the same stuff on quick reply as I would on a full reply, unless I'm trying to quote a specific post.

 

I can understand the logic behind the concern, especially from those who have to moderate, but we already exist in a "gif as a response" abd retweet environment without the benefit of quick reply.

Yeah, it's not like it's only a small amount of posts are made on the fly without quoting; it sure seems like most are actually made responding to the general topic or direction of the thread instead of being a direct reply to any one post. Plus it's not like we'd be losing the option to do the latter the same as before.

I've seen a lot of busted up quotes within quotes posts, but at the same time seen some that look just fine. Is there a weird glitch that messes that up when you quote more than one post or is it just user error not being used to the new board?

With the improvements to the site on mobile, would anyone be terribly upset if I removed tapatalk for the time being?

I think it looks a lot better on mobile than on tapatalk now. Anyone who disagrees is a chump.

With all due respect, yes. Even after the improvements, the mobile site is too busy for my liking and takes too long to load. Tapatalk is not without its warts but it wins in simplicity and load time.

I agree with you, but as someone using a damn near 3 year old phone, opening up the forum on a mobile web browser vs. tapatalk is night and day. Tapatalk is fast to the point, but opening up on a mobile browser is laggy and slow. It's not the forum, it's the phone, I understand that.

 

But does having Tapatalk enabled do something to the forum? Does it slow it down or make it weird or something aside from the quote issue?
