I'm very anti-DH.

I find AL baseball to be dreadfully boring compared to NL ball. The only explanation is the DH.

Here's a crazy thought, just go to an 8 man batting order.

I know it would never happen, because unions.

But that would mean better players bat more often. It's kind of like when you have 9 good slow pitch players and your glad when the extras don't show up, more AB's for the guys who can hit.

why would that be less boring than the DH if you don't like the pitcher not hitting?

I don't mind the pitcher batting, in fact; I find it to causes interesting strategic decisions to be made.

I'm more suggesting that I'd rather see 8 batters than a guy who only plays half the game while the other hitters have to play both.

It seems like (and it is) something you do in an old man softball league.

You just don't like the DH because it's not part of the Right WayTM to play baseball as dictated Tony LaRussa.

right. so if you like the pitcher batting because it adds strategy in your opinion, why would having only 8 hitters in a lineup really be much better in this regard than having a DH? you're still removing the strategy that you like and having an 8 hitter lineup with no pitcher or DH isn't much different than having a 9 hitter lineup with a DH.

I find it more pure. It's still 9 on 9 at that point at any given time.

I'm gonna try and salvage my [expletive] assumption that technically you can DH for any position and say that making that the actual rule would give these strategy lovers something to suck on.

Uh I don't think that's the type of strategy that's gonna do anything for anyone.
