Swirsky does the same thing Hughes does. Wayy too much excitement in his voice when bad stuff happens. His voice is what tells me how to feel and it's confusing and infuriating.

Yeah, Hughes getting excited for the opposing team was always a pain, but it's definitely gotten worse, plus he just seems a lot more absentminded, like he's trying to make up for Santo being gone. He used to sound/act a lot more like his mentor Uecker, and I wish he'd go back to that.

I don't mind the excitement thing. I can still turn on the radio and tell how the Cubs are doo g by his voice. I would probably be the last person to notice him slipping. I thought Neil Funk was good until he went on TV and I realized he was pretty much making [expletive] up out there.
