I'm getting sick of these ridiculously long replay reviews. NY umpires should get 45 seconds and then the video cuts out. If you can't tell by then, call stands. Done.

agreed completely

Take it out of the manager's hands they don't know if it's worthy or not

Show of hands: When Dempster f'ed up the Delgado trade and we had to settle for Villanueva/Hendricks, who thought it would turn out like this?

Delgado would be awesome with real coaching instead of AZ bs.

I almost included the disclaimer of not knowing what Bosio could have done with him.

Can someone explain to me why Parker didn't start out the year with us... or why it took this long to get up and stay up? I know there was an overflow of pen arms, but mainly I don't understand the whole Schlitter over him thing. Why on earth do we care if a 4.6 K/9 guy gets major league innings? The only way he is any good is if he gets a ton of ground balls and doesn't walk anyone. And he has done that, to his credit, but it leaves him where he is at: just about average for a pen arm. And that is his best outcome. Give me all 9+ K/9 guys; we can do that, seriously. There is just so much more upside in them.

Grimm with a solid outing. I really wish he would quit walking guys. But, I still like him in the long-term.

I still wish he'd start stretching in Iowa. He has more value as a 4-5 starter than a strong middle reliever, especially with Rondon, Ramirez, Rivero, Vizcaino, and Strop spearheading a potentially uber filthy pen and plenty of options to piece together the rest.

There are more bullpen spots than end of the rotation spots, and the end of the rotation is just as congested with Hendricks, Doubront, Straily, and Wada, to say nothing of Wood and Jackson pitching like end of rotation guys this year and Johnson & Black hitting Iowa next year. Grimm is fine in the pen.

What's Wada's contract situation look like? Not that I'm, like, really excited about him or anything, but do we have him cost controlled, and he still needs to go through arbitration and everything? Or is he just signed on a one-year deal or something? I have no idea how this works with a minor league free agent, who has never actually pitched in the majors before this year.

There's the thread in Baseball discussions about it, but I assume Wada will be pre-arb next year. He isn't on his original contract so there's no language that should require him to be a free agent, and he certainly doesn't have the service time at the MLB or MiLB level to force free agency. Because of his unique situation there's always the chance that he is a free agent after the year through some agreement that went unreported(because who was dying to know Wada's service time last offseason?), but I think given what we know we can assume for now that he's pre-arb just like Hendricks.
