Keeper league, PPR rules. QB, RB, 2 WR, TE, FLEX Who should I keep?

Options are:

TE- Rob Grontkowski- keep him, lose a 6th round pick. Jimmy Graham, Julius Thomas and Jordan Cameron are already set as keepers.

WR- Percy Harvin- lose a 13th round pick. Low end #1/high end #2 in Minnesota, but how good will he be in Seattle?

WR- Cordarelle Patterson- lose a 14th round pick. 15 points in each of last 4 games, with a couple over 20. No kick return points though. Does he evolve into a solid 2-3 this year?

Believe I would keep Gronk.

Yikes those are some terrible options.

Do you have the option of keeping no one and not losing a pick? Otherwise Patterson is probably the choice for me. He's probably good for 875 Yards, 5 TD and a couple return TDs (no points even for a TD return? I understand no return yardage). Harvin is what he is, a quick guy who doesn't score many TDs and gets injured a lot, at least with Patterson there is upside. And yes I know his QB stinks, but targets are targets IMO.

Gronk may score more fantasy points than either, but if he does it won't be by THAT much and he's a big injury risk too. Save the 6th rounder (still valuable round) and draft Martellus late.

My keepers: I've decided on Antonio Brown for $10 and Alshon Jeffrey for $5. I can do one more and am looking at:

DeSean Jackson $14

CJ Spiller $23

Reggie Bush $29

Bush and Jackson I still have another control year on if I keep. This would be my last with Spiller. Spiller and Bush cost probably market value, and DeSean well under but not sure I wanna go in RBless when I have two decent options. A long shot keeper is Vereen at $9 which is probably market value and keeps more in my pocket for some big plays in the auction and gives me a decent flex guy.

Bush for $29 is way too much IMO, bust year coming for him I think they really like J. Bell

Any particular reason for thinking they like Bell so much? I'm keeping Alshon for my 9th round pick (ridiculous value there) and can either keep Jamaal Charles for my first rounder or Bell for my 11th rounder.

As for the original question, I'd be pretty tempted to go with Harvin because I'm just not confident in anybody coming off an ACL and I thing Patterson is going to have pretty inconsistent numbers.

Just from some stuff I've been reading, he is certainly their goal line guy and RBush is only getting older (and less quick).

But in that scenario I still keep JCharles, if healthy he's a guaranteed Top 10 guy.

Rank these keeper options please, taking into account the round of pick I must forfeit to keep them. Every year goes up by 2 rounds.

Zac Stacy - 11th round

Andre Ellington - 11th round

Gio Benard - 4th round

Eddie Lacy- 2nd round

Nick Foles - 11th round

If I keep 2 11th round players one will be kept as a 10th rounder. I can keep 2-3 of these guys.

Stacy & Ellington are the easy ones for me. I'm a big believer in keeping my high picks in a keeper league unless we are talking an absolute stud but I don't think Lacy fits that. A 2nd rounder is going to be very valuable to you and who knows what options may be there. Start with 2 solid RB's in Stacy and Ellington and then the options are wide open at you're first 2 picks. Bernard would probably be my choice C.

Thanks...that's what I was thinking. Just wasn't sure if throwing a top 5 RB back into the pool was a smart move when I can keep him for a 2nd rounder. I'm picking 12th this year since I won it all last year. It's a snake draft, so that means the pick would be 13th overall, which makes him even less of a value.

Worse comes to worst, you just pick him back up I guess?

He'll surely be gone by the 12th pick. But thats ok. I should be good enough at RB with Stacy, Ellington, and possibly Bernard. I can go back to back stud WRs in rounds 1/2 and have a pretty complete team. I'd love it if Graham fell to #12, but I don't see that happening.

Who you guys drafting early?

I'll have the 3rd pick in my draft. I'm assuming Charles and McCoy go 1st 2 picks. Do you go Forte due to it being PPR or Peterson due to him being an absolute beast?

I think I would go AP either way. Lock for 10+ TDs every year.

AP's QB situation is really scary but that hasn't stopped him in the past I guess.

I lean Forte.

Anybody have any sleepers they care to share? Here are a few I may end up with:

QB: Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick

RB: Joique Bell, Jeremy Hill, Khiry Robinson, Devonta Freeman

WR: Kelvin Benjamin, Brandin Cooks (OROY), Justin Hunter, Markus Wheaton, Jeremy Maclin

TE: Coby Fleener, Ladarius Green, Eric Ebron, Brandon Bostick, Zach Ertz

Thoughts on keepers? This is the 5th or 6th year of this league but first time we're using keepers. It's an auction league and we can keep two players. Here's my roster (minus guys I'm not considering keeping) and how much it would cost to keep them. We start with a $200 budget and the price would be backed out of our auction budget. Not a PPR league.

QB: Cam Newton - $37

RB: Matt Forte - $52

RB: Montee Ball - $6

WR: Calvin Johnson - $43

WR: Demaryius Thomas - $32

WR: Josh Gordon - $4

I'm leaning CJ/Demaryius right now for a total of $75, having me bringing $125 to the draft to fill the rest of the roster. Gordon's problems have really screwed me, as I loved the idea of going CJ/Gordon for $47 and having a pretty good budget leftover for the draft. I like the idea of having my two WRs locked in, especially being two of the top guys in the league, but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Are there any future keeper rules? Ball looks like a decent gamble at that price if you'll have the option to control him in future years around that rate. Otherwise I think I like Megatron the best, though an argument could be made for Thomas. I'd definitely stay away from Newton at that price. Forte is a push at that price. You can probably get him again at that same price. Gordon I wouldn't touch at all regardless of future keeper rules.

Fwiw ESPN cheat sheet has ball as worth 32. There's no way I'm that high on him. I'd say mid to low teens though which is still big potential surplus value without much risk. It's hard with only two keepers though as it's tempting to just lock up your starting WR at a little under market.

Ball seems like a steal at that price. Hes a superior runner to Knowshon, who had a crazy good season last year. Tough break on Gordon, that would be a great price. I think I would go Ball and either CJ or DT.

FWIW, I've decided to keep Gronk. 6th round pick. We are starting only 1 RB, 2 WR, and a FLEX this year. So, gives me a chance to fill all those positions plus QB in the first 5 rounds, and have a full starting lineup (other than D and K).

I haven't done a mock where Gronk gets to me in the 2nd, and I would also lose out on Vernon Davis by the time I'd be ready to pick him (which wouldn't be until the 6th).

Plus, keeping Gronk gives me a chance to have a top 3 player at TE, RB (3rd overall pick), and QB (hoping for Rodgers/Brees in the 2nd round, and I've NEVER taken a QB early). I also think I can get one of the top 10-12 WRs in the 3rd.

Seeing what some of these RBs are going for in the mocks, I'm starting to lean towards CJ and Ball as well.
