I assume 3 starts per team as there are only game Fri-Sun ? Just want to confirm this as I know it has caused issues in the past...

Our standard has been that we use the # of starts as we have days in the period. So three sounds right.

Can I add a placeholder for Christian Binford or are we not doing that anymore?

Alex Wood wasn't showing as being scheduled to pitch before, so i left him in there

i've already used my 3 starts so somebody will need to deduct whatever points he gets

Wood was like 3 pitches into his start when i noticed it and pointed it out on here, so there wasn't some tactical advantage i could even be employing; i already had maxed my starts the day prior, averaging 26 points from them

but if you're able to dig into the Roadkill Rulebook and locate some obscure clause that'll reverse your earned loss on account of some dumb technicality, then so be it, i guess

that's it. I'm the bad guy. You broke the rules and I'm asking them to be applied as we have to everyone else. It doesn't make you a bad person. There's no evil intent required. That's the reason some of us, like Adam and I when I first joined, wanted it to be simple. Break a rule, penalty applied, move on.

you're not the bad guy, you're just the guy desperately trying to scrape out an undeserved win for yourself on account of some absurd technicality, oblivious to the possibility we might all be perfectly able to use common sense like regular adults in a situation where there aren't even any rules spelled out anywhere (3-start weeks)

Yeah, that's what I said. I'm the bad guy. The rule is clear (3 starts - it's been the same since I've been in the league and Adam posted about it in this very thread). The penalty for an extra start is you lose your best start. Spin it however you like. You're the guy desperately trying to claim a win for yourself despite a clear rules violation.

yeah, i didn't bother reading that reply and i'm not going to entertain more of this nonsense until somebody with commissioner authority sees it fit to actually dignify your fantasies with a response

Yep. It seems like a dumb rule, but it's the rule. The problem with these situations is that if you go into Sunday with 5 starts and you have 3 more starts that day, forgetting to remove one guy, who do you take away ?

Simple, the highest value start because you forgot to maintain the lineup. It's not the start of the guy who went at 3:05 pm eastern because the other two pitched at 1:05 pm eastern.

i need some evidence one way or the other indicating wood was not scheduled to pitch. I own him in a yahoo league and he was shown as the sunday starter by saturday at the latest.

the cbs software showed no start for him (raisin had the same problem arise with duffy)

and there's no real way to ward against this because the software settings make your lineup invalid with a stacked bench if you dump all your non-starting SPs there

That's happened to me like a dozen times in the other league, luckily never on a sunday, though other people have had that happen to them.

There's a post on that thread from Friday that says he's starting Sunday. Also, those complaints about not knowing he was starting were from Friday - presumably from leagues that have a weekly lineup deadline. That seemed to be Raisin's problem since he said he set his lineup for the week (which implies he didn't check back again after Friday).

This guy was not starting this weekend per cbs in the three game week before lineups liked Friday ?

He posted 14 hours ago about cbs not having the rotation posted when lineups were due on Friday.

It is true. I have had several pitchers of late where cbs did not list a start, but...
