1. Hope like hell Bulls package their 2 picks for a pick in the 9-12 range. Harris or Stauskas likely targets.

2. Does Embiid fall out of the top 5 now? This is his 2nd major injury and foot problems have derailed many big men's careers.

Will this just be the NBA draft/offseason thread? If so Warriors/T-Wolves talking Klay Thompson and David Lee for Love. I think that's a great trade for Golden State.

There's actually a good handful of SG/SF types that I like in the 2nd round. I'm a huge CJ Fair fan for some reason. I think he'll be a better pro than experts are thinking.

I think the Sixers take Embiid if he falls to 3 and the other 2 are gone. They also have 10, so they can get a wing there (Stauskas, Harris, McDermott). Even if Embiid doesn't give them much as a rookie, they'll have Noel.

Man MCW, Noel, Embiid and one of those shooters makes a lot of sense. So I'm sure they won't do it.

Yeah if I'm the Sixers and Embiid is there at 3 I take him knowing I have the 10 pick to take someone "safer." There's just too much upside in Embiid to pass him up when you also have a pick 7 spots later that can still yield you a significant talent/need. As they showed last year they aren't afraid to take it really slow with guys (Nerlens), so take Embiid and give him the whole year off if need be. They probably are going to be a lottery team this year again anyways, both by just having so many young guys and purposely constructing a roster to accomplish that.

Wow, this would just be crushing...

The 20-year-old Austin, who had been projected as a late first-round pick, underwent a standard physical at the NBA combine where his EKG test revealed an abnormality. After additional genetic tests, results came back positive for Marfan syndrome.

The recommendation was that Austin, who is 7 foot 1, quit playing basketball immediately.

Austin's mother, Lisa Green, drove through the night Friday from Kansas to Dallas to deliver the career-ending diagnosis in person. Friends and family, including Baylor coach Scott Drew and Austin's high school coaches, gathered to tell him the news.

If the NCAA had any heart they would allow him to remain on scholarship at Baylor until he gets his degree.

can Noel & Embiid coexist?

I just don't get that angle for the Sixers at all. I mean if he was the best player available when they pick I could certainly see them taking him, but the rumors about them making trades and such to make sure they end up with Embiid seem really odd to me.

Dario Saric just agreed to a 3-year deal with his European team that won't allow him to play in the NBA for the first two years. He was a borderline lotto pick who should now fall a bit. Nice fit for a Bulls team trying to save cap space, if they want to go through another Mirotić situation.

I don't think they'd save much cap space as they'll still have a cap hold assuming it's in the first round. And he won't fall far enough to get as a second rounder.

Still could be a nice pick at 19 and maybe be a good trade chip for a Melo S&T. To a team like NY the cap hold isn't s big deal as they're well over the salary cap, but the cap hold would effect their luxury tax.

He was projected number one in a draft we've been hearing about for years. I think it's more they really want him no matter what.

Nice of Milwaukee to agree to develop Parker for the next 3 years for a real team to sign

Parker/Giannis could be a really good core to build around. They could be something in 2ish years. And they control Parker for, 4 years.

Really like that pick for Philly, worth the risk with still having pick 10. Easily could have gotten the best player in the draft

Totally agree. Great pick. At worst they have the best front line the league in 2-3 years.
