I'm not one to get all flustered about lineups because it barely matters, especially in ST, but why would Barney EVER even be considered to hit first?

Contusion/bruise. Not much concern over it and he may even play today (which I would doubt)

Can we just trade Barney already and have Olt at 3B and Valbuena at 2nd w/ Murphy getting the occasional start? That offers way more offensive upside and sets the table for Baez when he's ready. It only makes sense. Time to get rid of the GRIT.

Barney's probably the better platoon partner than Murphy at 2B, especially since without Barney the only real backup SS option is...? There's the worry that Barney may get more PA against RHP than he should, but given his past ability to be a regular, Murphy's likelihood of becoming a pumpkin again, and the need for someone to at least be able to replace Castro in case of injury, I'd rather get rid of Murphy in a vacuum. Barney's trade value makes him the more likely departure if you can find a taker, though.

My ideal at this point is to keep all three of Bonifacio, Valbuena, Murphy, and then only carry four outfielders.

I have been hoping that Edwin Jackson will have a good season because I hate how a lot of people(not here) say that one bad yr makes his signing a bust. So this game kind of sucks.

He was K'ing once every 3.3 PA's last year. In 420 PA's last year he had 126 K's. At this pace he'd have 84. I'll gladly take it.
