I was really surprised that nobody got it, and even more surprised that nobody guessed a baseball team since the answer specifically mentioned the team not having a mascot for 100 years, or over 100 years or something like that. Point is, it mentioned 100 years, and the guesses were for a football team, a hockey team and a basketball team, so they managed to miss the only sport here that has 100 year-old teams.

Forget about specific teams- I think the MLB is the only one with even a 100 year history (maybe NHL too).

Yeah, I figured the 100 year thing brings to mind Yankees, Red Sox and Cubs. The Cubs and 100 years are kind of linked on a national level.

Wait I misunderstood "here" by Mojo. I thought he meant Chicago and the answer narrowed it down as such - looks like that wasn't the case. I just reiterated his same point.

Actually two of those guesses are pretty good. Teams/leagues with 90ish year history's (decent margin of error) and a team name that means or is "bear". Really just the third answer embarrassed himself totally.

Oh man. That is delightful.

Though for sheer terror, nobody will ever top the White Sox's unofficial mascot, Andy the Clown:

Someone Photoshop that pic or the third one so it looks like he's laying on a road. There's no way somebody didn't run that costume over a few times.

didn't one of our affiliates recently have a really awful mascot uniform too?

i seem to recall some fun bad pictures popping up of one in the last few years. not as great as these, though.
