did...they block a punt and then there's a penalty giving the Packers a first down?

I'm gonna kick my computer

blocked the field goal, picked it up, tried to lateral it while being tackled, the guy dropped it, and a lineman smacked it out of bounds. Penalty for hitting the ball out gives an auto-first down because the refs ruled the guy who lateralled never controlled it.

The Steelers should have challenged if Clark's knee was down, seeing as it had.

Just pure incompetence by the refs.

If the guy who "didn't have possession" was down?

Apparently, per Perriera. Ridiculous the Packers benefited because the refs couldn't see the Steelers clearly had possession.

In my opinion, PIT did have possession and 25 may have been down when he pitched it - since they ruled he didn't, replay can't get involved

Not confident the Giants will get a stop and score (either in regulation or in Overtime) however

Nor do I. Should have went for 2

That would have been monumentally stupid. I hope you're kidding.

Sorry that wasn't clear, I was trying to say apparently you're right.

Am I correct in saying a tie is just as good as a loss for Detroit as far as the Bears playoff chances are concerned?

Yeah, the Bears would just need 1 win to finish ahead of them if that happened since the most Detroit could get would be 8 and the Bears already have 8.
