I agree - great article. I was a little confused by how he ended it, though. Is he trying to suggest some front office people would prefer players not understand advanced metrics? To what end?

That was an odd final sentence. My guess is he was hinting at the idea that smart management has a better footing to stand on in negotiations if they know what really matters, and the players remain ignorant to their value.
