I'm not too concerned about ExST but he didn't display much patience in Boise last year (and by much, I mean he had a 0% BB% in 65 PA).

counting ExST, that's 87 straight PA without a walk.

he hasn't done anything today, but we're really not showing enough love to Contreras. Looking at the stats coming into today for the minor league hitters, Contreras and Soler have had the best combination of impressive and sustainable starts to their seasons.

Assuming he continues, he will probably make the biggest jump on my mid-season prospect list.

His improvements in patience and power have been incredible.

please don't be some stupid not running hard thing again.

well, if it's that, please don't let the manager be an [expletive] and talk to the local papers and chicago radio about it.

He was pulled defensively to start the bottom of the 6th after popping out in the top of the 6th.

So...He likely either hurt himself on that swing or didn't run it out after he popped it up.

My money is on the latter.

I don't suppose it was because he's spearheading a package for Giancarlo Stanton?

Yoanir Negrin pitched 4 innings of relief with 0/4 BB/K. Between him, Mosocoro, and Yeiper Castillo, we've got an intriguing batch of minor league free agent pitchers. I'd be interested in seeing any of them in the big league pen.

Maybe Castillo should get to AA first.

Clearly, I cursed his performance today.
