I've somehow managed to miss every one of his appearances this year. Given the offseason scouting reports on his velocity, I'm a bit disappointed by the fangraphs reports that his average velocity is only 91.4.

 

Just curious how his stuff looks to those who have watched.

A bit wild at times, but unlike Castillo last year, he looks like he should be in the majors. Inconsistent, including his velo. Solid movement from my untrained eye. I think we've got a longterm addition with him.

I haven't been overly impressed, but I could see him sticking as a middle reliever. Definitely has looked better than Castillo ever did.

Lendy Castillo was terrible last year. Somehow he is even worse this year in low A ball. Like others have said above, I see a good FB, sketchy control at times. FB has good velo but can be flat and when he's missing with his offspeed stuff (slider?) he relies on his velo and when he reaches back he looses his control. He seems like a keeper but he is clearly a work in progress. I recall reading that he missed some time in the Indians system recovering from injury so he needs some innings.

Missed some time is an understatement. Between 2011 and 2012 he had 10 innings pitched. It wasn't until last winter that he got healthy and had a good showing in winter ball. All of that considered, I would say he's making great progress and could be a very good pick up. Hopefully as the season progresses he will start gaining some consistency with his slider and change up.
