On another note... I was able to introduce hockey to my 2 nephews (aged 15 and 13). They'd never watched it before and were pleasantly surprised at all the action. I told them that NOTHING beats playoff hockey. Nothing.

Baseball has a nice slow burning intensity, but it really doesn't hold up. Football is just a completely different set-up, impossible to compare.

I guess. If anyone in this thread can say this year or 2010 can even come close to 2003, when the job didn't even get done, I'll back off that. Then again, it's not a fair comparison given the histories of the franchises, I suppose.

 

I can't think of anything more fun in sports than an extended baseball playoff run. And I get that I obviously can't be a great judge if I'm not a big hockey fan, so I guess I'll leave that to you guys.

People who are not huge hockey fans, and also aren't freaking idiots, often admit that playoff hockey can't be beat. They may not care for the game the other 10 months of the year, but when they do watch it in the playoffs, and again, aren't idiots, they will admit to its greatness.
