The Hawks have been much better in recent years at forcing game 7s than they have been at playing them. No one should be looking ahead.

But they've only played one game 7. 2-1 at "forcing game 7's" and 0-1 at winning them.

Wait, how have they forced 2 game 7's but have an 0-1 record in them? Or am I missing something?

2-1 forcing game 7s includes Monday's game. 0-1 in game 7s does not included tonight's game. They've only played one game 7 in recent years, and lost.

Tonight it's time to balance the ledger.

Wow, NYR fired Tortorella. Mildly surprised.

Perhaps they shouldn't have bet the farm on Rick Nash, the most overrated player in the league, and Richards. How Torts goes and Sather stays is beyond me.

Ha. I keep bouncing back and forth between supreme confidence that the Hawks will win and horrific visions of a game 2 redux.

Regardless, it's a bad idea to start speculating about a next series that may not even happen.

Would you rather face the Bruins or Penguins in the finals?

just think how bad it's going to be losing after coming back to tie the series. 8 hours from now we'll all be wishing it was still right now.

What happened to then?

We passed then.

When?

Just now. We're at now, now.

Go back to then!

When?

Now.

Now?

Now.

I can't.

Why?

We missed it.

When?

Just now.

Bruins this year, Penguins next year.

So before I get to the penalty shot, let me just say that I assume that most Wings fans if they were honest are more upset about losing a game that The Wings were the better team.

i think wings fans are being perfectly honest when they blame the loss on the vast nhl conspiracy, phantom offside, or bogus penalty shots. i think if wings fans thought their team was better than the blackhawks, they would actually make a coherent case for that, rather than resorting to all of the nonsense we see around the internets

Do not forget Michigan is the state that gives us Amway and all those militias. Crazy ass internet stuff is like the norm to a lot of those people. Like I said that IF they were honest. But they would also have to claim that Obama is not the worst president ever IF they are honest.

Nerves are shot and the game hasnt even started yet. Lets get a couple of quick goals to calm me down.

Why stop at a couple?

We can go up 5-0 in the first 10 minutes and I'll still have no nails by the end.

Kind of crazy that the 5 teams that are still alive in this playoffs happen to be the last 5 Stanley Cup Champions.

That stat doesn't bother me only because we are one of the five.

Not to be a downer, but I just realized this is the first Game 7 played in Chicago since the 2003 NLCS Game 7.

Other game 7's (or non-football winner take all games) in post-Jordan era Chicago sports:

1998 Cubs Wild Card Tie Breaker (W)

2003 Cubs NLDS Game 5 (W)

2003 Cubs NLCS Game 7 (L)

2009 Bulls 1st Round Game 7 (L)

2013 Bulls 1st Round Game 7 (W)

2011 Blackhawks 1st Round Game 7 (L)

Seems like we're over pursuing on the forechecking. And why does our PP look so bad again? Notice they always carry up the right side at the line and pass in deep off the left?
