with all that the cardinals need, they take a guard.

Short of moving up for Johnson it was the best move they could make. He'll help whoever their QB is to stay alive all year.

9:05: Never thought I'd say the day when a guard and a slot receiver were chosen in the top eight of the NFL Draft. The smart teams drafting in the late teens, 20s and 30s have to be laughing right now.

palmer is not the answer. the cardinals are in the proverbial QB wilderness.

ansah did not look happy

Agreed. Extremely subdued.

He finally gets out of Mormon country to make millions and gets stuck in Detroit. I would be pissed too.

Not good for Cowboys that the three tackles and the best guard are off the board. I wanted one of the top guards, but not likely to be there. Maybe going DT or S depending on who's there.

I like Mingo, but I thought 6 was too high for him.

And none of the guys at the top of this draft will lead them out of the wilderness. Or if they do, you can still take most any of them in the 2nd round.

I like the later guys (Bray, Manuel, Glennon) as much as the earlier guys.

Wow. That was a reach (not the pick, the trade).

He was heavily rumored to be going 4 or 5, and the trade only cost a second.

Too many good rushers in this draft to give a 2nd rounder for a guy who doesn't stand ou from the rest.

You and I have very different ideas of standing out, then. He was by far my favorite available pass rusher, outside of Carradine.

they could have traded down. and i don't know what you have against smith, he's going to make one team very happy.

Could they have traded down? If so they should have, but I have my doubts anybody is chomping at the bit to move up rich now.

And I don't dislike Geno, I just don't think he's better than the other so-so QBs in this draft. This is a historically weak draft for QBs.

I probably like him the most of the edge rushers, but not that much more.

trade down for anybody, buffalo did right after them and got some options.

Geno is going to be a stud and he's a difference-maker.

I'm not convinced about Geno, though I wouldn't have hated the pick. The difference between Cooper and the 2nd round guys isn't much greater than Geno and the rest.

I'll [expletive] if the Raiders can get Star at 12.

Might have Floyd on the board still.
