it's pretty obvious the cardinals got this to 7 games on purpose so the tigers would have to wait around a whole week before playing again, while the cards bats keep their timing.

cards win tonight and sweep the tigers.

Heard somewhere that the Tigers are flying their instructional league team up for scrimmages, which they didnt do before. Won't quite be the same (throwing inside, etc) but better than nothing.

You lot are pathetic.

Tigers in five games.

What about Giants in 7?

Tigers in 5 regardless of who wins the NLCS. They're finally playing to their talent level, and at the perfect time. Their bullpen might cost them one game, but their rotation is lights out right now, and Young and Peralta are hitting in addition to Miggy and Prince. They're just a tough matchup for anyone right now.

We'll see. My experience has been that things can change in the blink of an eye, especially with a week off. The Tigers were coming into the World Series red hot as well having beaten the Yankees in 4 and then sweeping the A's to get to the World Series, while the Cardinals trudged past the Mets in 7 games.

I pick the Cardinals. To LOSE! 7-3 and the man god that is Pete Kozma strikes out to end the game after a Daniel Descalso error blows it wide open in the 7th inning. Take that N&G!

I pick the Cards to win 1-0. Matt Cain gives up only one base runner, a solo home run by Descalso in the ninth. Giants finish the game with 27 LOB.

No. Matt Cain will throw a no-hitter. Kozma reaches on an error. Goes to second on a sacrifice, third on a passed ball. Scores on a ground out.

Well done, sir. Well done.

AJ Pierzynski managed to work in a dig at Karros and the Cubs within the first 3 minutes of the pregame show. At this rate Joe Buck is going to start openly rooting for St. Louis in the 4th and Tony La Russa will join him in the booth for the last 3 innings.

I saw that as soon as I tuned in. Harold Reynolds was like, 'hey! great joke!' and pointed at Pierzynski. Wish someone was there to ask him how it felt to represent his team at the ASG this year or something.

Can we please have no more live shots from behind home plate?

Definitely the worst thing in a baseball broadcast. I hate it live. No idea if the pitch is even anywhere near the zone.

Giants need to tack on here. I have a feeling Cain will be lucky to get through 6 at this rate and that bullpen has to be getting fatigued.

A Pence grand slam would be amazing right now.

And that was nearly as good. Wicked swerve on that ball.
