O's need another arm after their 18 inning game yesterday. Just adds to what has been one of the best and most intriguing seasons of baseball I can remember for a long time.

He was down in Instructional League, got the phone call at 4am or 1 hour after the O's finished their game against the Mariners.

Is he going to be in the bullpen? He hasn't pitched in a game since Aug. 28.

Given that, my first thought would be that he's there in case of emergency, like another extra inning game where they need more arms. But then again, its September, so there should be no shortage of arms on the roster.

Also, since there has been a lot of Orioles chatter on NSBB lately, I think we should adopt the Orioles as our team for the playoffs.

Seconded.

If Pittsburgh somehow removes their heads from their rears they got my vote. A's and O's a close second. Somehow Baltimore needs to win the East, Oakland the West and then the Yankees and Rangers would have to play each other in the inaugural WC game.

As long as the Cards and Yankees aren't playing, I'll have no vested interest and just hope for good baseball.

It would almost be worth it for the Brewers to catch the Cardinals and win a one-game playoff at Busch to get into the one-game playoff. I could just see Tony Plush dancing on the field and getting suspended for the playoffs for his antics. Also, pretty sure a fight would break out between the teams once the game is in hand.

Who cares about the White Sox? I mean if they do well, good for them. How they do doesn't really make a difference to me. I'd rather them win than the Cardinals, by far.

The Cubs vs White Sox "rivalry" is really stupid. We are going to be playing them only 4 times a year, and used to only play 6 times a year. Good luck to them or whoever else, and who the hell cares who wins (as long as it isn't St. Louis) if it's not the Cubs. That's how I feel anyway.

I care because I live in Chicago and I can't stand cocky White Sox fans. Plus the White Sox suck.

They're just so irrelevant that I don't even think about them outside of when I'm waiting for talk radio to be done talking about them (sort of like with hockey).

It's sort of like how Milwaukee/Wisconsinites hate Chicagoans with a passion and call us FIBs, but we don't really think twice about Wisconsin beyond going on white trash vacations (not that those aren't fun).

Except it's nothing like that since Wisconsin is Wisconsin and this is [expletive] Chicago. It's not like I live some hermetically sealed life on the upper northside around Wrigleyville like some kind of cracker-ass cracker.

Another White Sox WS would be awwwwwful.

White Sox fans do suck. I don't have anything against the franchise but their fans are pretty bad. Luckily, I no longer know any. I just see their posts on facebook.

I started reading your post and about halfway through it I looked at your info to confirm my guess that you do not live in Chicago.

I didn't care about the White Sox when I lived on the East Coast. Unfortunately, I moved back to Chicago in time for the 2005 baseball season, and it was hell on Earth. I live in fear that I will have to one day live in a world where idiot White Sox fans are celebrating another World Series title and taking every opportunity to belittle Cubs fans. It's just really annoying and their fans are idiots, so it does bring a healthy amount of hate to the table.

I'm not sure if you were living in the city in 2005, but it was awful. Even stupid things like 'Support your White Sox by wearing Sox gear to work on Friday' memos just pissed me off. Walking through downtown and seeing everyone and their mom wearing Sox gear and seeing signs and flags up everywhere. Having idiot Sox fans come up to me at the Cubby Bear of all places and making fun of me for wearing a Cubs hat during a Sox World Series game. Watching Sox fans decide to celebrate their world championship by gathering right in front of Wrigley Field and chanting 'CUBS SUCK' and '1908!'. My friend was at a bar in Wrigleyville the night the Sox won it wearing a Cubs hat, and on his way back to Rogers Park some drunk idiot Sox fan approached him while waiting for the Red Line and got in his face and yelled "HAHAHA CUBS SUCK!! GO WHITE SOX!!!". When my friend responded by saying 'go [expletive] yourself', the Sox fan jumped him and started pounding on him right there on the platform.

So yeah, I'd prefer to avoid all that [expletive] again.

I'm just saying, IMO, Cubs::White Sox as Chicago/NE Illinois::Wisconsin

B cares a whole lot more about A than A cares about B.

Enough of that... I just don't really care about the Sox or their fans. They're an afterthought to me. And I work in the SW burbs and work with a good amount of Sox fans.

Yea, none of that bothered me at all (well, some of it didn't even happen to me). The Sox and their fans ain't no thang.
