John Andreoli hit his first pro HR, haha.

Wow, 74/88 BB/K this year. Impressive .402 OBP to go along with a .298 Average.

Great speed (though he gets caught stealing too much) and good defense.

Trade some BA for some pop and he and Zeke DeVoss are basically the same guy.

Nah, Zeke can't play any defense.

@billazbbphotog Unexpected play of the night in Boise: Dan Vogelbach tags up & scores from 3rd on a foul pop-up to the first baseman. #Cubs

At the Chiefs game tonight. A few random notes - nothing earth-shattering, though.

- Antigua threw mostly off-speed stuff, only hitting 91 once or twice.

- He was tired in the 5th, but they sent him out in the 6th to get crushed.

- Jorge Soler does not hustle out ground balls - reminded me of Soriano, which pissed me off.

- Bijan Rademacher looked better than his stats would indicate. Really took DH'ing seriously as he was seen stretching out and swinging a bat between innings.

- Justin Berg got his ground balls, but wasn't really fooling anybody. Some solid shots at infielders.

- Oliver Zapata made a terrible throw to second (not resulting in any damage) and beat himself up for the rest of the inning (talking to himself, hitting his leg, practicing throwing, etc.).

- Pin Chieh Chen has a great arm for a CF. Line drive throws home (some a bit off the mark, but line drive shots.)

- Wes Darvill made a few nice plays at SS - plays I wouldn't have thought he would've gotten outs on, but did. (One was throwing out a player at 3B.)

@harrypav Finally saw Jeffrey Antigua pitch. Hopefully the last time. 6 yrs in pro ball and he's just got some of the worst mechanics you can imagine

@harrypav Antigua stops his body. On most of his offspeed pitches (which @CubsDen can pick out of his hand every time) his back leg never comes across

,302/.420/.498 with 14 2B, 7 3B, and 6 HR in the last 65 games for Watkins. I think I'm probably moving him past Lake in my end of the season top 30.

After a poor start in Boise, Marco Hernandez' BA is up to .286, thanks to a .324/.360/.472/.832 August.

Really ugly 3.6% BB rate at Boise, though.

for a guy who doesn't hustle out ground balls, he has gotten a ton of infield singles this season.

Callis will be on The Score to talk Cubs prospects at 9:40 CST. If anyone listens, it'd be cool to hear what's talked about.

See, if he ran hard all the time they'd all be singles.

Looks like Jorge Soler is finally being called out for his lack of hustle by the Cubs organization:

Soler didn’t hustle on two hit balls in a game on Saturday against Lakeland and was subsequently benched for Sunday’s contest. “Not everybody is going to run every single ball out at 100 percent,” Sveum said before the Cubs took on the San Diego Padres Monday night.
