As always, Bruce Miles to the to the rescue:

Bruce Miles[/url]"]UPDATES: There had been some concern over No. 1 draft pick Albert Almora, who seemed to twist his ankle as he hit the bag awkwardly the other day for Class A Boise. Scouting and player-development chief Jason McLeod tells me Almora is is seeing the doctor in Boise today and that the Cubs should know more later. Jason said Almora was doing better yesterday and that the Cubs hope he can play in another day or two.

On a question on our blog about Juan Paniagua, Jason said the Cubs slowly would work him into a starting role to build experience and innings. He added it's too early to determine his future role but that "he has a very good arm with makings of solid secondary stuff."

Ha is on fire

Still have some hope for him. He dramatically increased his walk rate this year, but a jump in his strikeout rate negated some of those gains. He has been much better in the second half of the year which might suggest suggest the new instruction is taking hold. Less homeruns but more doubles. He's still only 21, so he has some time to develop. The main question with him has always been upside which is still highly questionable, but he's getting closer and closer to being a somewhat safe 4th OF prospect.

Anyone got anything on Corbin Hoffner? I think we gave him the full 100k and he's a really big guy at 6'5, 235. I can't remember but it seems like he's 87-90ish with a good slider as his out pitch, but I can't remember.

We need Bruce to ask Jason if Alcantara is still alive.

Some time ago, I put on the blog that Alcantara was done for the year.

Was it a leg injury, I can't seem to remember.......Oh and glad to see pop in!
