Peoria 1B Paul Hoilman out for the rest of the season. Of all the ways to get hurt, he dislocated his finger trying to bunt.

Wonder if they'll move Vogelbach up?

No. Boise is likely to make the playoffs and as El Duderino mentioned, Jacob Rogers was bumped up.

FYI, Chris Rusin might be called up to start tomorrow for the Cubs.

What are your thoughts on Sholders' season to date and his future as a prospect?

1) With his size, weight, the only position he will be able to play is first base.

2) His foot work and glove work around first is pretty good.

3) His size limits his range. hard hits balls to his left will be a problem. Bunts will be a problem. he has issues with pop-ups.

4) When he makes contact, he can put a hurt on the ball. It has that nice crack. The ball jumps off his bat.

5) He is very patient. He walks a lot. He waits for his pitch, fastball. If he guesses right, good things happen.

6) He has problems with off speed stuff. When he misses he looks bad, and he strikes out a lot.

My best guess (and I am not a professional by any means) is that he is like Hoilman. His power will be intriguing, but he will hit his ceiling in Peoria, or Daytona. He should not hold up Vogelbach or any other top prospect.

Quakers summed it up great. I think he'll be the new Rob Deer of minor league baseball. Tons of homers, tons of K's, horrible BA the higher up he gets, but a walk rate that keeps him in the lineup. Doubtful he ever becomes a guy we get excited about, other than the cool ass name. Hope I'm wrong though, he seems like a good kid.
