I wonder if there's any chance Javy does the AFL

I dunno. I'd say he finishes at Daytona, starts there in 2013, and if he ends up in Tennessee then he goes to the AFL that Fall.

He's been killing it before the promotion but I think that might be a year away.

doesn't a guy have to be in AA at the end of the year to play in the AFL?

You're allowed one player per team who finished the year below AA.

This makes Baez the youngest player in the FSL, correct?

Baez and Torreyes might be the two youngest.

Gary Sanchez is one day younger than Baez. Torreyes is third youngest.

I'm very curious now about Alcantara and what the plans are for him. I thought I had read he was really close to coming back like a week ago. So either there's been a setback or he could play a couple of games in Arizona and move on up to Tennessee after that, I guess. On another note, they've really moved Saunders around. I was a tad surprised they moved him down to Peoria. He seems like a utility type, I would have kept him there and moved Bruno up, I believe.

Baez is also the 2nd youngest in all the High-A leagues, again trailing Yankees catching prospect Gary Sanchez by one day.

Yeah, all joking aside about Saunders, he was holding his own in Daytona. Maybe they want him to get regular ABs?

My guess is they want him to play SS regularly every day. From memory, I believe he was mainly playing 3B in Daytona.

I'm pretty sure that's not true, especially since he was only called up to Daytona when Alcantara went down.

Baez grounds out to short in his first PA.

Strikeout in 3 pitches again for Baez. None of them close according to the announcers and all of them offspeed stuff same thing last at bat, and he's swinging out of his shoes.

IIRC, he struck out an insane amount early in his call to Peoria, too, so hopefully this ends up the same.

He's playing 4 hours away from where he went to HS. He could easily have a bunch of people there to see his first game and is pressing.
