I know we don't enforce rules or really have a commissioner and this league is pretty much a lawless mad max style wasteland, but I'm gonna have to say chuck should not be able to use either of the SPs he had on his 4 man bench for the first half of the week. obviously the correct enforcement of the rule is that he gets no points for the days he was illegal but we've abandoned that rule for whatever reason. i don't think disallowing the use of the pitchers on his overflowing bench is particularly harsh. especially since...well lets just say his isnt his first offense. There is an option in the league setup that whenever a roster becomes illegal the system automatically awards zero points for whatever time frame the roster remains illegal. It might be something worth using.

There are still big red letters that tell you when you have too many players on your roster. This shouldn't be hard.

You won't get those red letters though if you have under 22 players on your roster (which is where the current settings are). A team could have an additional 3 reserves and not get a warning.

yes. though i don't think i've ever had that problem. the only time it would come up would be if you had like 5 guys all starting on sunday or something weird.

this is like the 100th time we've had this debate this year. clearly the way we're handling it is not enough of a deterrent.

I have 4 reserves bc I have only 6 pitchers in my lineup. That's not an illegal roster bc I'm not above the 22 limit. I don't care if a guy wants to sit a shaky starter so he has more reserves. The issue is having more than 22 players and ignoring the big red letters.

You can still have an illegal roster and not have the big red letters. Those additional 3 reserve spots were created only for the purpose you are currently using it for....at least that's what I thought those reserve spots were being added for.

Since July 31 lands on next Tuesday and I'll have the worst record on that date (or at worst be tied with Tim who beat me head to head), I have the first overall pick, right?

According to transaction history Chuck has been illegal since his May 20 trade with Tim (he added 3 MLB players but traded away 1 MLB player and 2 prospects and dropped another MLB player: net gain of the 1 extra guy he's had until Wednesday).

 

He should lose 100 points this week, his win against tim in week 15, his win against truffle in week 12, Theo in week 11, lynx in week 10, and brian in week 8.

 

Also Karen has 3 RPs in her lineup. Looks like she's had 3 RPs since June 4 though I'm not sure if they've all been active or in her starting lineup. She at least needs to lose her points this week. If just having 3 RPs on your roster is illegal, she should lose her wins since week 10 I think.

Also D-block has an extra guy on the bench. Likely forgot about the waiver claim this week but he didn't drop anyone when he added Lowrie. So he was one over. Then added Drew and dropped Lowrie so he's still one over.

Since we struggle so much, maybe it would be good to remind people about prospects getting called up. I didn't check rosters but a lot of prospects are in the majors and will be approaching the limit to retain prospect status. Maybe a heads up in the next couple of weeks could avoid more roster problems.
